A Little Bit About Me…
Hello, Jack Kapala here and thank you for digging a little deeper into my site. I hope you enjoy what I have to share and I look forward to connecting with you. So how did I get here…well, I was born and raised in the Chicago area and currently live in Woodridge, IL; a suburb of Chicago. I am the older of two children and was raised in a very typical 1960’s home.
I had the unique opportunity to spend a good portion of my teenage years and well into my late 20’s performing as a singer and guitar player in a rock ‘n roll band. And I had the thrill of achieving a moderate level of success throughout the Midwest. While pursuing that dream I had the pleasure of experiencing all the fun one would expect from such a lifestyle. Somehow or another, I also managed to finish college and get married. I am the proud father of three adult children who are all currently attending various institutions of higher learning throughout the Midwest…and yes, I know, three kids in college at the same time, what were you thinking? Sometimes timing is not my long suit!
Time To Grow Up (a bit)…
After I had packed away the microphone and hung up the guitar, I decided to start a family. I quickly realized (or more accurately confirmed) that I was a unique individual, not to be confused with different, but unique. I, like many others, found the traditional workplace and career path options very limiting, especially after having been able to work in such a creative environment for so many years. But with a young family, I trudged along in the workplace, but always kept my options open. I discovered network marketing about 20 years ago and was hooked on the promise and potential. At first I dabbled. I had some levels of success and certainly had some failures. I decided to take a break from networking for a bit.
While I was away from the network marketing industry I fueled my entrepreneurial spirit by forging headfirst into more traditional business enterprises. I actively looked at acquiring existing businesses only to realize very quickly that dealing with bankers, investors, sharks and business partners can be an absolute nightmare. But during this time I’d once again began to explore the network marketing arena and discovered a company that I was able to achieve a fairly nice level of success with.
Who’d O’ Thunk…
Enter 2006 and 2007… I, like thousands of others, was completely devastated by the overnight downturn in the construction industry. At this point I had been fully poised to launch a niche luxury home building company. Those dreams were dashed overnight and I was back to ground zero…but now fully unemployed. The one saving grace I had was a nice little side income generated from my network marketing company that I’ve been building in the background. And if you didn’t see this coming, right when I needed it most, due to poor management, bad decisions and improper financing that company folded.
The Thing To Do With The Future Is…
I decided right then and there that I would no longer let any one particular company rule my destiny ever again. I decided that I would take charge of my business and would develop and build myself first, and my network marketing company second. While in college I had a very wise professor who had a business strategy that I adopted and still use today and that is simply, ”the thing to do with the future is not forecast it but create it; the objective of planning is to design a desirable future and invent ways to bring it about”. And with that strategy at the forefront, I began my “you inc.” business.
I invite you to join in and follow along as we discover, learn and teach together.
